Delightful Days

CozyMinimal proudly supported Hinterlandt’s Delightful Days album launch on 1 February 2025 at Church Street Studio.
The event offered a serene and immersive experience, blending Persian melodic traditions with minimalist textures. As part of the performance, we presented minimalist reinterpretations of Dashti and Abu Ata—two significant Avaz modes within the Iranian Dastgah system—highlighting their emotive depth through a contemporary lens. -

Mind-Heal Performance

Mind-Heal was a captivating concert by CozyMinimal, presented in partnership with Local Edition, merging the meditative qualities of minimal music with the timeless depth of Persian traditional melodies.
The hour-long program featured minimalist interpretations of Dashti, Abu Ata, and Afshari—three expressive Avaz modes in Iranian classical music. The performance culminated in a 30-minute rendition of Afshari, inviting deep, contemplative listening. -

Nowruz Jamming

We held a vibrant Nowruz jamming session in partnership with, and funded by, SSI as part of their aged care program. Designed as an inclusive musical workshop, the event invited participants of all ages and backgrounds to explore rhythm through the poetry of Omar Khayyam.
Musicians from diverse traditions came together to improvise, blending their instruments and cultural influences in a spontaneous celebration. Audience members were encouraged to join in by creating rhythms inspired by the poetic metre, transforming the session into a shared, participatory experience. -

CozyChoir had the opportunity to record two special pieces at Brand X, marking a meaningful moment for our ensemble. Taraneh, composed by Shervin Mirzeinali with lyrics by Alireza Sadeghi, and Azizam to Golakami, a Kurdish folk song, both reflect our commitment to blending rich melodies with evocative storytelling.
For many of the participants, it was their first time in a professional recording studio—an exciting experience that offered insight into the process, environment, and energy of bringing music to life. The session captured the heart of our work and was truly unforgettable. -

Mo-Heal Performance

Mo-Heal was a meditative performance by CozyMinimal, blending Persian minimal music with a mission to support men’s health through the Movember campaign.
The program unfolded in three chapters: a setar and tombak duet, followed by a setar and piano duet, and concluding with a rich ensemble of setar, tar, tombak, piano, and electronics.
The concert created a serene, immersive space for reflection and healing, using traditional melodies and minimalist textures to foster mindfulness and emotional connection.
Profits were donated to the Movember campaign, reinforcing the event’s commitment to well-being and music as a powerful tool for awareness and change. -

The Luthier

The Luthier Concert was a special performance that brought together the artistry of renowned luthier and Tar player, Masoud Mosalla Nezhad, who has played alongside legendary musicians such as Hossein Alizadeh.
We were privileged to invite him to Sydney for this unique event, which celebrated both tradition and innovation. Held at Glebe Town Hall on 26 August, the concert showcased two distinct musical sets. The first set featured Masoud Mosalla Nezhad on tar, accompanied by Arman Gouniaei on tonbak, while the second set presented a fusion of minimal music with traditional instruments, featuring Shervin Mirzeinali on piano and electronics, Ali Yarmohammadi on tar, Arman Gouniaei on tonbak, and Ehsan Kachooei on setar.
This concert offered the audience a rare opportunity to experience the blend of Persian classical music with contemporary minimalism in a single performance. -

In September 2021, during the challenging times of lockdown and the ongoing impact of COVID-19, we faced a period of devastation and strain on our well-being. Despite the difficulties, we found a way to stay connected and lift our spirits through music.
We organised an online concert, encouraging everyone to record their voices using their phones and follow simple instructions to contribute from home.
The result was a unique, collaborative performance of Majnoon Naboodom, which allowed us to unite, share in the healing power of music, and stay connected even when physically apart. The concert served as a reminder of the strength and resilience of our community during those difficult days. -

Voices from the Vacant Lot

CozyChoir had the privilege of collaborating with Voices from the Vacant Lot for a special performance at the Ryde Multicultural Centre on 30 May.
This marked one of our first partnerships with this talented new group, creating a unique program that blended Persian classical songs with choral pieces inspired by Indigenous Australian music.
The program featured a range of songs, including Deleh Zaram, If You Go Away, Lama Bada Yatathana, Yeh Pooleh Khoroos, Lili Hozak, and Quizas, offering a beautiful fusion of cultures and musical traditions.
The concert was a resounding success, with a sold-out audience that shared in the unforgettable experience of two worlds coming together through song.

CozyChoir celebrated Harmony Day at the Ryde Multicultural Centre on 21 March with a performance that beautifully blended Persian and Arabic musical traditions.
In collaboration with Tililili, a group that performed Arabic songs, we presented a program of Persian classics, including Yareh Jani, Daman Keshan, Lama Bada Yatathana, and Quizas.
The concert culminated in a powerful fusion of both cultures, with musicians from diverse backgrounds coming together to create a harmonious and unforgettable experience.
The event was a great success, selling out and providing a space where music transcended cultural boundaries and united the audience in celebration.

CozyChoir was invited by Ryde Persian School to present a special program in celebration of the Persian New Year on 20 March. Designed especially for children and families, the performance featured joyful and festive songs, including Khoshaho Shado Khandanam—a well-known children’s song which we reimagined with a fresh, stylish arrangement—and Nowruz Waltz.
The event marked a successful and heartwarming collaboration, bringing music, tradition, and celebration together in a lively and engaging atmosphere for the community.

CozyStage held its very first concert following the easing of the first COVID lockdown in September 2020 at the Ryde Multicultural Centre—a milestone moment that marked the birth of CozyStage and its choir. After months of isolation, it was a deeply moving experience to gather again and share music in person.
The performance featured uplifting pieces such as Havar Havar, Bahareh Delneshin, and Yareh Jani, capturing the joy and relief of reconnecting through song and community.
